Das ist kaput!

Ok, so I didn't pay attention in GCSE German, but I don't care because that title describes how I am feeling and I cannot be bothered to correct it!

This is why
Sewing Machine Autopsy a la kitchen table!

My Pfaff machine is dead, again! Only 3 months after the last time. This time it is out of warranty and I have no money, no hope and no backup. My mother-in-laws super duper present WONT be getting quilted in time for her birthday this weekend and I feel awful.

My husband came home to find me in tears at the kitchen table last night. Quilting those bloody birds was the end! Yes I know it is only a machine and there are far more important things in life but right now, for me, this sucks!

Expect a bit of radio silence whilst I try and pull myself together and figure out a way I can keep my sanity without the solace of quilting :-(

(for any that are worried by the above scene, my husband is a trained electric and mechanical engineer!)

Oh crap!! I sympathise greatly. If something happened to my machine I wouldn't be able to replace it. That's why I talk to it really nice!! I think you should take up some epp just to keep your fingers busy and so you feel you are getting some crafty sewing done. I wish I lived closer as I would happily let you come over and play with my machine.

I saw this picture and thought you'd taken it apart!!! I feel for you. I'm having machine trouble too. I can at least take it for a service repair for £65. But it's scary as what happens if it comes back with more issues than it went in with. Not to mention the time I'm without it. Hope you get yours fixed soon!

Oh nooooooo :o( If I lived closer I'd lend you Baby Brother, but the 600 odd mile trip each way would proably cost as much in fuel or train fairs as a new machine! Hope you can maybe embrace some EPP while you work things out...

Shitty death!! What a bloody shame. Definitely some handwork to keep you somewhat sane but it's just not the same, is it? :o(

Oh crap!
More embroidery time or EPP - there's always a back up but not so good when it is enforced :( I have faith in the hubster x

Oh, I am so sorry! I kept my 'old' machine as backup, when I got my new one- I would lend if that was feasible, but I doubt it is!
I do hope she can be resurrected!

It looks like you had dropped it the way its in pieces. Having no machine really sucks! Hope you work something out *BIG HUG*

You can borrow mine if you want to drive just the other side of the bridge and collect it. I'm not using it for a while. Or you could try the little man in the small shop just to the left of NA station.

Oh No! Won't Pfaff do anything? Have you called them and read them the riot act? Those machines aren't cheap and this shouldn't happen, quilting birds or not. How is your husband on sewing machines?
Maybe suggest to Pfaff that you are a highly successful blogger and you will be writing about this - so they can choose in which light they wish to be portrayed. I've got everything crossed - a non-working sewing machine is worse than losing your handbag!

That's tough. Sod's Law too that it is just out of warranty. Hope your husband can sort it out for you, looks like he will be busy for a while. Your m-i-l will definitely understand about the delay, and will no doubt treasure the final quilt all the more knowing what you had to put up with during the making of it!
